What is Hip Hop?

Hip Hop is a fun, high-energy class that combines today’s popular music with dynamic movement inspired by current dance trends and top choreographers. Dancers will learn foundational hip hop techniques, including elements of popping, locking, and freestyle movement, while developing coordination, confidence, and personal style. Age-appropriate music and choreography are carefully selected for each class level.

Levels of Hip Hop

  • Level A – 6+, Beginner
  • Level B – 9+, Beginner to Intermediate
  • Level C – 11+, Intermediate
  • Level D – 13+, Intermediate to Advanced
  • Level E – 15+, Advanced
  • Age and skill determine level

What to wear for Hip Hop

Dancers are encouraged to wear comfortable, stylish athletic attire and clean sneakers that allow for freedom of movement. Appropriate options include joggers, track pants, sweatpants, T-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, basketball shorts, leggings, and other activewear.

Hair should be pulled back from the face and neck.
