What is Pre-Pointe/Pointe?
At E-Dance, safety and proper technique are the foundation of our pointe training program. Dancers begin their pointe journey in Pre-Pointe, where they focus on specialized exercises designed to develop the strength, alignment, balance, and control required for safe and successful pointe work.
Throughout each season, dancers work to build core stability, ankle and foot strength, and overall body awareness through carefully structured training. This progressive approach helps dancers develop the technical skills and muscular strength needed to meet the demands of pointe work with confidence.
As dancers advance, instructors regularly assess their technique, strength, and readiness before recommending progression to the next level. Our goal is to ensure that every dancer is physically prepared and technically equipped to perform pointe work safely while continuing to grow as a strong and confident ballet artist.
To be considered for Pre-Pointe, dancers must be in Ballet C or higher. Throughout the year, dancers are evaluated regularly to monitor their progress and readiness for pointe work. Assessments help instructors determine individual strengths, areas for improvement, and when a dancer may be prepared to advance to Pointe.
